Project Hanuman by Stewart Hotston
Genres: Adult, Sci Fi
Representation: Indian cast
Published on: 11th November 2025
Goodreads
Blending Indian mythology and classic space opera, Project Hanuman is a bold new science-fiction novel from Stewart Hotston, perfect for fans of Adrian Tchaikovsky.
The ship needed to hear voices, to know he was not alone. The pilot thought they were going to fight an enemy, to find someone responsible and mete out justice. The Interlocutor thought they were going to help. The ship only wanted to hear the chaos of life and know he wasn’t alone among the stars.
The Arcology is a pan galactic utopia whose people live entirely online. Tired of paradise, Praveenthi ‘Prab’ Saal had herself printed into the physical world of Sirajah’s Reach, working as an Interlocutor – a go between for the Arcology and the cultures it meets in flesh and blood.
One evening after a call with her family – who are pressuring her to abandon her body and rejoin the Arcology, the city stops. Stops completely – nothing electronic works anymore. Terrified that the Arcology has just up and disappeared, she receives a call for help from a ship in dock whose pilot, Kercher, is a prisoner printed into a body to serve out his sentence in the physical world. Between them they discover it’s not just her planet, but the entire Arcology that’s gone missing. If they don’t find out what’s going on it could be the end of everyone and everything that calls the Arcology home.
Their only resource is their living ship, into which all the knowledge and culture of the Arcology has been downloaded. Asked to be a life raft for the Arcology, the ship, a frigate without a name, is dying – slowly being swallowed whole by the literal universe of information it’s been asked to carry.
Featuring worlds made entirely from gold, an enemy who has no consciousness, allies made of lichen and the grand Ring World of Akhanda – the physical heart of the Arcology. Prab and Kercher will need to put aside their dislike of each other and the Arcology if they’re to help their ship and save anything at all. Can they restore the possibility of hope to their lives?
Fascinated by this set-up, and very interested in the strange worlds the characters are going to be visiting!

Under the Yule Moon by Nicole Ryan
Genres: Adult, Fantasy, Queer Protagonists
Representation: F/F
Published on: 11th November 2025
Goodreads
Fleur keeps to the edges—of the forest, of the town, of other people. She likes it that way. Her magic is quiet, the kind practiced in herbs and tea leaves, in instinct and salt at the door.
Winnie runs the tavern the way she runs her steady, simple, alone, and she tells herself that’s enough.
But when a snowstorm brings Fleur to her door, that contentment begins to fade. The hearth breathes deeper, the walls seem to listen, and in the hush between them, something old and tender, begins to awaken.
As the Yule Moon rises, magic stirs, choices reveal themselves, and two women must decide what it means to stay—when every part of them is used to leaving.
A cozy, witchy romantasy about quiet magic, unexpected warmth, and love made not just by fate, but by choice.
Sounds very sweet and cosy!

Goodreads
In the second installment of the Micah Grey Trilogy from the award-winning, USA Today-bestselling author of Dragonfall, Micah must learn two types of magic—one for the stage, and one with deadlier consequences—while navigating a tender new love.
Old magics are waking. Will the world survive their return?
Micah Grey almost died when he fled the circus with Drystan. Now he and the ex-clown must use Glamours to disguise themselves and hide in the once-grand Kymri Theatre, run by a once-renowned magician, Jasper Maske. Drystan claims Maske’s stage magic is all smoke and mirrors, but where’s the line between trickery and real power?
Micah and Drystan will soon learn the answer, when Maske's arch-nemesis challenges them all to a duel that will seal all their fates.
Meanwhile, the Shadow still haunts Micah’s steps, and as the duel draws near, Micahincreasingly suffers from dark visions. Events that destroyed the ancient world are being replayed. Can Micah's latent powers break this deadly pattern?
In this rich and evocative second novel of the Micah Grey series, L.R. Lam blends a coming-of-age story, queer romance, and magical powers into a charming and original fantasy world, inspired by Victorian Scotland.
The second book in the Micah Grey trilogy! Like the first book, this has been heavily rewritten since it was first published as YA years ago, and is now very much Adult.

Creative Futures (Beyond and Within) by Allen Stroud
Genres: Adult, Sci Fi
PoV: 11th November 2025
Goodreads
Inspirational and thought-provoking collection of short stories imagining future crises and solutions, uniting the spheres of creative storytelling and real-life resilience building.
We’re going to change the world.
Science Fiction writers spend their lives thinking about what will happen in the future. In this anthology, a select group bring imaginative thinking to the challenges the world will face in the next century.
This anthology is a collection of works that draw inspiration from the Creative Futures Research Project, a partnership between Coventry University and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL), the UK Ministry of Defence’s science and technology organisation. The writers involved in the project created stories that imagined some of the future crises that we may have to resolve and the ramifications of our choices on the generations who come after us.
Edited by author, lecturer and researcher Allen Stroud, who had a leading role in the research project, this anthology not only entertains and inspires, but also reminds us of the immense value of the imagination and creativity of science fiction writers in helping us plan for future crisis management and resilience.
The full list of featured authors in this book is: Allen Stroud, Gavin Smith, Kieran Currie Rones, Stewart Hotston, Emma Newman, Stephen Oram, Tiffani Angus, Adrian Tchaikovsky, Adeola Eze, Gareth L. Powell, Stark Holborn, and Sophia McDougall.
Yes I AM annoyed I couldn’t find a proper cover image – publishers I want THE COVER, not PHOTOS OF THE BOOK POSING. Mutter mutter. Regardless, this sounds like an utterly marvelous read – give me all the wildly imaginative futures, please!

Sergeant Nix Marr is a damn good soldier. She’s also desperate to leave her haunted past deep in the bioluminescent ocean, buried alongside her best friend, Quian. So, when Subarch Kessandra, Valkesh’s favorite royal–and Nix’s loathed ex–requests Nix’s help investigating a massacre in the abyssal city of Fall, Nix refuses. Vehemently.
She should have known Kessandra would fight back.
Consigned as Kessandra’s bodyguard, Nix grudgingly boards the Luminosity, a luxurious submersible that offers the only transportation to Fall. But Kessandra wasn’t truthful–surprise, surprise–and her “investigation” isn’t about the massacre, but rather what caused it: an illness that incites its victims into a violent craze.
When another royal is brutally murdered, Nix and Kess realize the disease has spread–and no one on the Luminosity is safe. If they’re going to survive until Fall, they’ll have to trust each other… but considering Kessandra is responsible for Quian’s death, that won’t be easy.

Turns of Fate (Isle of Wyrd, #1) by Anne Bishop

Published on: 11th November 2025
Goodreads
A young detective investigating crimes of the uncanny will learn that bargains can change your fate—for good or ill—in this darkly enthralling fantasy from the New York Times bestselling author of the Others and the Black Jewels series.
Words have power. Intentions matter.
Most people come to Destiny Park for entertainment. They come to have their cards read to tell them a bit about their future. They come to walk through a beautiful park and to eat at the hotel’s restaurant. They come in the hope of catching a glimpse of the Arcana, the paranormal beings who rule the Isle of Wyrd.
But some people come to make a bargain with the Arcana—to change their fate. And some people come for dark purposes.
When Detective Beth Fahey is sent to Destiny Park to inquire about a “ghost gun,” she will begin a strange journey on which she must learn to navigate the Arcana’s unforgiving laws and dangerous attractions. Her search will draw her into seemingly impossible cases and the secrets of her own past as tensions rise between the Arcana and their human neighbors across the river.
For the Isle of Wyrd is a place where the dead ride trains to their final destinations, predators literally become prey, and seekers’ true natures are revealed in the ripples of destiny unknowingly stirred in their wakes.
Who will live? Who will die? And who will be lost in between?
The start of a new series from Anne Bishop! Diverse? Probably not, but I’ve found her prose addictive since I was a teenager, and I will absolutely show up to check out her newest world!

A charming book of linked stories with a sprinkling of cosy fantasy and a fable-like touch . . .
The Amberglow Candy Store in the Night Alley introduces the reader to half-fox shopkeeper Kogetsu, whose magical wagashi sweets from his shop on Gloaming Lane promise to change his customers' lives for the better.
We follow an array of characters from various walks of life through their encounters with Kogetsu, who himself learns some major life lessons along the way, and reveals his own backstory in the process.
I love books about food or sweets, and this sounds lovely and heartwarming. A kitsune candy-seller!

Humanity is under assault by malevolent "antimemes"—ideas that attack memory, identity, and the fabric of reality itself—in this wickedly brainbending tale of science-fiction horror, an entirely reimagined and expanded version of the beloved online novel.
They’re all around us, hiding in plain sight.

These entities can feed on your most cherished memories, the things that make you you—and you’ll never even know anything changed. They can turn you into a living ghost—make it so that you’re standing next to your spouse, screaming in their ear, and they won’t know you’re there.
They are the perfect predators, equipped with the ultimate camouflage—the ability to wipe out memories of their own existence.
And they aren’t just feeding on us. They’re invading.
But how do you fight an enemy when you can never even know that you're at war? How do you contain something you can't record or remember?
Welcome to the Antimemetics Division. No, this is not your first day.
This sounds so incredibly strange that I want to take a look at it – not least because I’ve had a very interesting time with some of qntm’s other fiction!

Break Wide the Sea by Sara Holland
Genres: Fantasy, Historical Fantasy, YA
Published on: 11th November 2025
Goodreads
A young woman cursed with a fatal heartbreak-induced sickness must race against time to find a cure and protect her family legacy from the ancient finfolk that would destroy it, the fiancé that would kill her for it, and the boy who would love her if she forsook it.
The seafaring humans of Kirkrell have always been plagued by finfolk—bloodthirsty fae who haunt the seas, sinking ships and cursing bloodlines. Yet it’s only by hunting magical whales that Kirkrell can prosper. Nineteen-year-old Annie is heir to the Fairfax Whaling Company, but their family's success came at a cost: a curse by which heartbreak turns Fairfaxes slowly into monsters. And six years ago, the shipwreck that killed Annie’s parents left her with scales spreading up her arms, claws sprouting from her fingertips.
The love of her fiancé, August, salved her heart for a while—but when she learns August is maneuvering to take over the company, the curse worsens. Fearing her time is running out, she strikes a bargain with a disreputable young captain, half-finfolk and half-human Silas Price: on a voyage to hunt whales in the far north, Silas will take Annie to the finfolk queen, who can lift the curse in return for a promise to end whaling forever.
As Annie, August and Silas sail north, she is determined to uphold her family’s legacy, but the threat of the finfolk tests her resolve. Lies corrupt her relationship with August; meanwhile a dangerous connection with Silas blooms—but he’s keeping secrets too, and his might be the most dangerous of all.
As heiress, it’s Annie’s responsibility to deliver whale magic to her city. But as heartbreak looms, she must choose between saving herself and her family’s legacy—and hope it doesn’t cost her everyone she loves.
Not my usual kind of read, but I’ve been waiting for this one since before it had a pub deal, purely because the magical whales sound amazing, as does taking the historical whaling industry and tweaking it just a bit to be magic!

Shackles and Shattered is the third full novel in the Scions and Shadows series. Full of lesbian and sapphic romance, political intrigue, and darker themes, this book is perfect for fans of The Locked Tomb series and The Jasmine Throne. While this novel can be enjoyed on its own without any previous reading in the series, it does contain spoilers for previous books in the series. This book is ownvoices for disability and mental illness representation.

Lesser Hungers by Rien Gray
Genres: Adult, Horror, Queer Protagonists
Representation: Nonbinary MC
Published on: 15th November 2025
Goodreads
There's a haunting in Cameron Ciris's blood, and the city they live in is hungry for every drop.
Chicago is like every other American built on a foundation of death. Little surprise that when a loving couple in a low-rent apartment cannibalize each other, the police write it off as a bizarre murder-suicide. Cameron—local fixer and addict in recovery—volunteers to take up the case as a favor to their neighborhood, the 49th Ward.
A year ago, Cameron overdosed on a hot new party drug and picked up an extra passenger, an entity that forces them to perform rituals written in blood. Being possessed is Cameron's new normal, but as more cannibalized victims turn up, so does an eldritch doppelganger of Cameron's old dealer, hunting them through nightmares and hallucinations.
Cameron tracks the molding remnants of their dealer from block to block, discovering a malicious growth that promises to spread through Chicago and give it a whole new shape. With a body not quite their own, Cameron faces the question lurking throughout the urban who gets devoured, and who gets to feast?
Problem is, they're getting real goddamn hungry.
"By the pricking of my thumbs, something ravenous this way comes. Lesser Hungers is no mere appetiser, it's an entire feast comprised of beautiful, brutal imagery wrapped in a delicate spiderweb plot. Gorgeously written and as visceral as a vulture's lunch, it's how 'Venom' should have been written." – Lindz McLeod, co-author of Sunbathers.
"Bold and unique, LESSER HUNGERS is a novella that oozes atmosphere and comes with a rapidly beating pulse." Judith Sonnet, author of THE HOME
I’ve out read horror from Gray before, but their prose has enchanted me in the past and I’m loving the sound of this haunting!
